Summery of the big day

What to expect on the big day.

This is not just a celebration of our marriage, it's a day to spend with friends and family. It's a family fun day with a bouncy castle, games and much more. After the formalities of the ceremony and food we envisage a chilled day of catching up with old and new friends. Ties loosened, sleeves rolled up and shoes kicked off.

You can arrive anytime in the morning, the bar will be open from 11:30.

Ceremony starts at 12.

After the ceremony Adele will be taking photos. There is a bouncy castle and garden games for the kids on the bottom terrace. We will be serving canapés and drinks on the top terrace for the adults.

Dinner will be served 2-2:30. It's a buffet with three mains-
Chicken massaman  ( mid flavoursome thai dish )
5 bean casserole
Macaroni cheese
Sticky rice & coconut rice
Homemade nann bread
Selection of salads

Desert table after with tea and coffee.

After the dinner it's time to relax hopefully outside in the sunshine!  There is plenty to do with the bouncy castle, garden games, fairy walk, rose maze, apple orchard all to explore. Or sit catch up with family, the bar will be open all day.

Night guests will start arriving from 6pm. The bouncy castle will be there till 8pm. The rest of the night will be dancing, drinking and laughing. The fire pit room will be lit and the carriage room log burner if you need a chill out.

The bar closes at 12 but we are free to carry on till any time dancing.

Night time

Night time guests will arrive from 6pm, again there is plenty of camping spaces regardless if you are a night or day guest. If you want to arrive earlier to pitch up feel free, the camping field is to the right of the main entrance, there will be signposts.

Aidan will be playing some wedding favorites on the decks all night. We want to put a playlist together to help him so please comment with your top wedding songs, the cheesier the better.
Between dancing Lakeland steaks will have set up to offer night time food, so get refueled off them guys, then back to dancing.

Kirklinton bar will be open, this is a cash bar ( no machine on site) so bring what you need. We are to tell them what to stock so far soft drinks, wine, beer, spiced rum and G&T are on the list. Comment on this post if you want something added.

There isn't an end time.... dance, drink and be happy for as long as you want, well we will have to be off the camping ground by midday on the Sunday!

About Kirklinton Hall and how to dress

Sounds glamours doesn't it? The grand Kirklinton Hall, well back in its day it was even the Krays and Barbra Windsor came to hang out here when it was a casino and London got a bit too much for them. To be honest if its good enough for Babs its good enough for us. However, it had been left to almost ruin but a lot of money has gone back into it and steps have been taken to make it grand again. If you do get the time look up the history of the place, its got a great story to tell and we are pleased to be part of that story now.
One thing is that if we don't get the weather it can get cold so please bring warm clothes for the night time. There will be heaters in the main hall and a couple on the terrace, we will also have a fire pit room ( no roof or windows though) and finally the old carriage room with sofas and a log burner for anyone who is really going to feel the cold.

How to dress?
Think summer garden party but if its raining bring an umbrella and your wellies. Obviously its a wedding so its a smart affair but we want you to be comfortable and warm too. Check out the weather and decide about footwear and warmth. Fingers crossed for sunshine

Friday night

Friday night is all about helping us set up the hall.... bunting hanging, garden games building, sweeping up and everything in between. We would welcome any help so please come down, the camping is open on the Friday so stay over or head home after.
The bar isn't open on Friday but bring a couple of cheeky drinks and we will set up the music first. Dancing, getting creative and having fun.

Kids

We want them there! A wedding just wouldn't be the same without them. Kids love camping, dancing and cake.... but we have more than that! There will be lots of garden games, a sand pit, play park, fairy walks through the woods and even a bouncy castle. When things get too much for them we have our chill out room with sofas and log burner to keep them warm ( not to play with).
We don't have any highchairs so please bring one if needed or give me a phone.

Camping

We have hired the camping field at Kirklinton Hall from Friday  at 3pm till Sunday at midday. We will be about all day on the Friday setting up, so if anyone is free please come and help.
There is plenty of room so campervans, caravans, tents or whatever you choose to sleep in are welcome. There isn't any hook ups in the field,  just a water point. There is 2 clean, hot and powerful showers. Also toilets in the warm clean shower block. We have secured a room to get ready in with electric points for hair drying/ straightening, phone charging and so on.
Now if you live local you are welcome to just pitch on the Saturday  ( saves taxi fares) .
We understand not everyone enjoys camping as much as us so we will not be offended if you choose not to camp, but we would love it if you could join us for this weekend of camping, chilling and dancing.
I will be there till midnight on Friday then I have to stay at home ( can't see the bride before the wedding) but Andy will be camping all weekend.
